Uppit or Upma as it is popularly known, is the quickest breakfast one can think of in terms of the cooking time.  Mostly prepared with Rave/Rava, it is easy to digest food that is prepared in every home when you feel like eating something simple.  It is interesting to know that it is called by different names in different parts of India - Uppuma, Uppittu, Uppumavu, Uppindi, Kharabath, Upeet, Rulanv.  The best thing about iPaaka Upma Mix in its classic form is that it gives freedom to experiment different varieties of Upmas.  Add onions, tomatoes, green peas or simply add a spoonful of iPaaka Bisibelebath mix to make a masala Upma.  The No Preservative formula by iPaaka makes it a healthy breakfast and the freshness would be a feast to your taste buds leaving you wanting more.

Storage Instructions: Use a clean and dry spoon.  Refrigerating it extends its shelf-life by another 3-6 months.  

Ingredients: Roasted Semolina, Green Chili powder, Dry Ginger, Asafoetida, Chana Dal, Urad Dal, Cashews, Salt, Curry and Coriander leaves

Method:

  • Take about 400ml of water in a kadai and bring it to boil.
  • Once the water starts to boil, add 150g of iPaaka Uppit mix and stir it into a uniform mixture
  • Close the kadai with a plate or lid and cook it on a low flame for 5 mins
  • Enjoy with iPaaka Chutneypudi or iPaaka Sambar or coconut chutney. Serves 2

 Recommended: Add freshly grated coconut, Coriander leaves and ghee on top and serve.
